Diese süße Katze hab ich heute von Joan bekommen. Sie gehört zum "Here, kitty kitty"-Swap bei fabricards und kam so richtig passend zum morgigen Valentinstag. Ein richtig herziges Kätzchen. Today I got this sweet cat from Joan. It's from the "here, kitty kitty" swap at fabricards and arrived quite fitting for valentine's day. Isn't it charming?
Dieses Jahr ist wirklich so richtig Winter ... hätt ja gerne mal was anderes ... naja, ich hoffe, es gibt dann auch einen richtig schönen Frühling. So siehts vor meinem Fenster aus - inzwischen mit noch mehr Schnee: This year the winter is really something ... I long for a bit of spring ... this is the view out of my window, even more snow has fallen in the meantime. 
Aber ein kleiner Blumengruß: meine Amaryllis hat tatsächlich Blüten angesetzt ... was ein echtes Wunder ist, so wie ich meine Blumen immer vernachlässige. At least my amaryllis decided to be nice and show some buds ... which really is a miracle considering the way I tend to neglect my plants ...
Und diesen Blumengruß hab ich auch noch nicht gezeigt: Eine Nelke von Lori vom Flower Mingle bei fabricards, und meine Kreuzstichnelke. And some more flowers: The nice bluework carnation Lori sent me for the Flower Mingle at fabricards, and my cross stitch carnation. 
Und zwei schöne Siggies hab ich auch bekommen. I also got these nice siggies in January. 
Übrigens hab ich auch noch mehr UFOs gefunden oder Projekte, die ich eigentlich mal machen wollte: Eigentlich wollte ich mal mitmachen bei "take a stitch on tuesday" und mich außerdem mal richtig mit der Software meiner Stickmaschine beschäftigen ... und eine Leselotte nähen, zum Lesen im Bett ... na, mal sehen was dieses Jahr noch so geht ... I also found more UFOs, or projects I had once planned to do: I wanted to take part in "take a stitch on tuesday" and also get to know the software of my stitching machine ... and sew a cushion especially for reading in bed ... well, we'll see what will be possible this year ...

Bei den Zahlen-ATCs bei fabricards kam heute der weiche Brief, der meine 3er-Serie vervollständigt hat. Ich hab auch schon Vierer und Fünfer-ATCs und bin ganz begeistert, wieviel Spaß es macht, sich zu den Zahlen etwas auszudenken und zu sehen, was andere sich ausdenken. I can show something beautiful again. I got the last ATC "three" from the number series at fabricards today. Meine ATC bezieht sich auf einen Bibelspruch: "So ist es besser zu zweit als allein ... und eine dreifache Schnur reißt nicht leicht entzwei" Prediger 4, 9+12My ATC is an interpretation of a bible verse: "two are better than one .. and a threefold cord is not easily broken." Ecclesiastes 4, 9+12 Ja, manchmal braucht man die anderen. Bei fabricards sind die Swaps ja weltweit, und demnächst soll ich eine Karte nach Victoria, Australien schicken. Ich les auch immer mal australische blogs. Und was in den Nachrichten schon schrecklich ist, rückt einem so irgendwie noch näher. Deshalb möchte ich wenigstens ein paar gute, wenn auch leider hilflose, Gedanken zu den Opfern der schrecklichen Buschbrände schicken und allen Helfern viel Kraft wünschen. Sometimes one really needs the others. At fabricards we swap worldwide, and soon I'll send a card to Victoria, Australia. I also read some australian blogs. And what really is awful already when you see it in the news so gets under my skin even more. So I want to send some good, though helpless thoughts to the victims of the awful bushfires and wish all helpers the endurance they need.

In diesem Zusammenhang ein Dankeschön an dich Heidi - dass es bei dir immer so schöne Sachen zu sehen gibt, dass du mich auch zum bloggen überredet hast, dass du so eine nette "Nachbarin" bist ... und überhaupt.... In dem Zusammenhang muss ich Helgas Kommentar recht geben, ich hätte mir nie vorgestellt, dass man im Internet so viele so nette Leute kennenlernt ... euch alle eben ... Many thanks, Heidi - that your blog is always so nice to look at, that you made me blog too, that you are such a nice "neighbour", and all that .... I really have to agree to Helga's comment, I would never have thought that one can meet so many great people in the internet ... you all .... Zum Beispiel auch entli, von der ich heute ein Päckchen bekam ... sie hat mir Stickkarten geschickt, und ich sollte ihr eigentlich Stoffe dafür schicken .... ich ihr, irgendwie hat sie da was falsch verstanden, oder? Verrücktes entli! Süße Stoffe und auch noch eine AMC waren dabei. Und ein Fellchen mit den "Kleinen Leuten von Swabedoo" - davon hab ich lang nicht mehr gehört, aber es passt richtig gut zu soviel Freundlichkeit. Vielen vielen Dank, Silvia! Entli, for example, who sent me some cards for my stitching machine, and we had planned that I would send her fabrics as payment ... me send fabrics to her ... but somehow she misunderstood that, didn't she? Sweet fabrics and an great AMC were also in the package. And a small "fur" with "the little people from Swabedoo" - I didn't hear of this story for a long time, but it matches this friendliness. Thanks a lot, Silvia! 
Das hab ich bei Helga gefunden und konnte es nicht lassen, musste es auch gleich ausprobieren ... *grins* ab wieviel Prozent müsste man wohl eine Entziehungskur machen?This I found on Helga's blog, and of course I immediately had to try it, too *lol*. Am I so addicted already that I need a cure?65%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?Ach ja, und passend zu meinen schönen Februarkarten hab ich mal einen Valentine-Background ausgesucht, aber ein Faschings-Titelbild. Ich selber bin zwar keine so große Faschingsfreundin, aber hier in Ellwangen ist das die wichtigste Jahreszeit. Jetzt ist auf einmal der Stoffladen ständig proppevoll, weil alle Kostüme nähen .... und jedes Jahr kommt eine typische Faschingsfigur heraus, einige hab ich oben drapiert. By the way, matching my beautiful february cards, I chose a valentine background - but a carnival heading. I don't really take part in carnival, but here in my town it's the most important season. The fabric store is full all the time, as everyone is sewing costumes, and every year you can buy a typical carnival figure, some of them I've decorated above.
So schnell gehts, schon 1/12 von 2009 ist rum. Jetzt kommen also die Februarkarten: Die Karnevalkarte von Sabina war im Kalender, die Valentinskarte bekam ich beim AMC-Monatstausch von Janine - sind die nicht beide schön? Und so sind auch die wichtigen Februarthemen in meinem Wohnzimmer vertreten. Meine Monatstausch-Karte ist auch eine Karnevalkarte. Time goes by fast, already 1/12 of 2009 is gone. So now I show you my february-cards: The first, the carnival-card from Sabina, is in the calendar, the one with the valentine theme I got from Janine in the monthly swap at the PW-Forum - aren't they both beautiful? And so the main february themes are represented in my sitting room. I also chose the carnival as theme for the monthly swap. 
Ich hab auch noch ein paar UFOs gefunden. Ziemlich neu ist dies hier: An Weihnachten hab ich versucht, mir von Uschi beibringen zu lassen, wie man Kreuzstich macht, bei dem auch hinten alles in dieselbe Richtung zeigt. Knifflige Sache!! Meine Oma und meine Tante konnten das beide perfekt, nur kann ich sie leider nicht mehr fragen. Ich hab ein Muster ausgesucht, das dann hoffentlich zu deren Werken an meiner Wand passt. Also, I found some more UFOs. This is quite new. During my christmas visit I tried to learn from Uschi to do cross stitch that is totally regular on the backside, too. Quite difficult. My grandma and my aunt both could do that perfectly, but unfortunately I can't ask them any more. I chose a pattern that hopefully will match their great works on my wall. 
Außerdem habe ich sage und schreibe 3 angefangene Paare Socken gefunden, die schon seit 2 Jahren liegen. Warum ich nicht erstmal ein Paar fertiggestrickt habe? Fragt mich was leichteres. Naja, ihr habt es ja in euren Kommentaren ganz richtig gesagt, frau braucht auch ein paar UFOs. Mein wichtigstes Ziel wäre es, dass der Sternenquilt bis zum nächsten Winter wirklich "sofatauglich" fertig wird. Moreover, I found 3 unfinished pairs of socks lying here for 2 years already. Why I didn't finish one pair before starting another? Don't ask me ... . Well, as you said in your comments, a woman needs her UFOs. My most urgent goal is to finish the starry quilt until next winter.
