It's already more than a week that I went to the 15. european patchwork-convention at Val d'Argent. Heidi, Hanna, Claudia and Michi already wrote about it - it was great to meet them! But I want to show some things I liked, too.
Even at an exhibition not everything is perfect- but still beautiful, that's good to see.
"Contrasts of modern times" von Ibolya Horvath, Ungarn
Ich fand es interessant, wie in manchen Quilts das islamische Darstellungsverbot von Personen/Gesichtern gelöst wurde, besonders hierI've never seen turkish Quilts before, interesting to see how they don't and still do have faces ... as picturing faces isn't allowed in Islam"Soliman le Magnifique" von Simper Kursun
Mein liebster warWe all loved the japanese Quilts, this one was my personal favourite "Look up higher" von Minako Arisaka

An old swedish Quilt, Maria Olsson put everything on it what was in her everyday life or what seemed interesting to her, for example a bicycle, which was extremely uncommen in those days.
"Northern Reflections" hat mir von Sandra Meech besonders gefallen - außenherum wird das Leben der Inuit dargestellt wie eine Idylle, innen dieselben Motive nocheinmal, aber zerstückelt, verschoben - ein sehr passendes Bild, finde ich.I liked "Norhtern Reflections" by Sandra Meech - on the outside the life of the inuit is shown in a very traditional way, and in the middle the same motifs, but cut and thrown around, as this sort of life ist today.

Sorry, I forgot to say something about the riddle - I now have five, not four kittens, the fifth one was found alone, and the mother accepted it at once, that was great.
And now some september-cards. This calendar-card I got from Dagmar, she also sewed me the beautiful sunflower I have at the top of my blog at the moment.
This is the september card from the monthly swap at the PW-Forum, Heidi made it for me - isn't the "ground staff" sweet?
Solche Karten hab ich gemacht. These are my september cards.
I also have to show the August sketch, this card I got from Tina.
And this is my card - I seem to think of nothing but cats at the moment ;-)
Some more Photos of my sweet cats - the mother has calmed down a bit, and the most courageous of the kittens tried his first outing in the wide world - but then was a little afraid of his own courage, and I had to put him back every half hour.
Today there was a big biking event in my town, the bikers drove on a circle through the town, from the youngest to the big race over 88 rounds. Well, I live inside this circle, so I was sort of "closed in" and had to stay home and sew ... but I'm not allowed to show you the results yet.
"Locked in" is also how this cat feels at the moment, I fear. Since yesterday I have another cat and her babies to care for, she doesn't really feel at home but was even less at home at the animal shelter. She allows me to handle her babies as long as I don't come too near her.
Was macht Frau, wenn sie eine lange to do ...
What does a woman do if she has a long to do ... hmmm, to sew-list and even has time for sewing because of the summer break? And now for something completely different: This panel I bought about two years ago because I found it cute and wanted to sew something for the glass in the entrance door of my apartment, and now I thought I really should do it. Not much to sew, but I still like the panel. The back got a nice fabric also, so it's nice to look at from the outside, too. And the to sew-list? Well, it won't run away, will it? I also got these beautiful small cushions filled lavender from the swap at the PW-Forum - hmmm, this smells great!
Solche Kissen hab ich gemachtThese are the cushions I made.
